Providing Better Smiles to Calgary & nearby areas of Alberta

If you’re considering a long-lasting replacement for missing or severely damaged teeth, you may be trying to determine if dental implants are right for you. The first thing to consider is whether or not you truly need a full tooth replacement. If your teeth can be salvaged, you may be able to utilize a dental crown to replace the rest of the tooth. Additionally, you may simply need dental inlays/onlays if your teeth just need minor coverage.

However, if your teeth are so unhealthy that they have fallen out or must be removed, a dental implant could definitely be a solution.

What Are Dental Implants Made From?

Dental Implants | Alberta, Calgary DentistDental implants serve as a tooth replacement because they are actually placed in your jaw bone just like your remaining natural teeth. A titanium screw is placed in your jaw bone and then left for several months until it thoroughly integrates with your jaw. The benefit of this is that you won’t suffer from bone loss which can happen if you choose dentures rather than implants.

Once you are thoroughly healed, a permanent dental crown is attached to the implant. The crown is custom-made to fit your bite and will be matched to the color of your existing teeth.
