Meet Our Caring Dentist

Dr. Arzy Kafrouny earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry in 2005 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the same institution. She has provided care in various dental clinics across Alberta, gaining valuable experience in all areas of general dentistry. Now the owner of Southcentre Dental, Dr. Arzy is creating a welcoming environment where patients feel informed, comfortable, and well cared for. She also maintains certification in both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Known for her gentle, calming presence, Dr. Arzy focuses on building trust and getting to know each patient. Clear communication and thoughtful guidance are at the heart of her care, ensuring every visit feels manageable and stress-free. Whether it’s a routine checkup or a more complex treatment, Dr. Arzy personalizes each experience to meet individual needs with compassion and clarity.

Dr. Arzy maintains active membership in several respected professional organizations as part of her commitment to ongoing growth. These memberships include the Canadian Dental Association, Alberta Dental Association, College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta, Calgary and District Dental Society, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Shiva is a general dentist who loves helping patients feel comfortable, cared for, and at ease, especially those who may feel anxious about dental visits. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2020 and completed a hospital-based General Practice Residency, where she gained experience treating medically complex cases and developed a gentle, patient-centered approach. She offers a full range of services, including Invisalign, dental implants, and sedation dentistry, and always takes the time to ensure her patients feel relaxed and fully informed.

Outside of the clinic, Shiva enjoys baking, travelling, and learning new things, most recently picking up skiing. She also loves exploring local cafes and brunch spots, and spending time with her family and her toy poodle, Matcha.

When you find a dental practice you truly trust, you hold onto it even when change makes you hesitate. I had been seeing Dr. Silver for a while now, so when she told me she was leaving, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I live outside of Calgary, and the drive just south is no small commitment, so I briefly considered switching to somewhere closer. But Dr. Silver assured me her replacement would be excellent, and because I trust her, I decided to stay and give the new dentist a try. I’m so glad I did. My visit today confirmed that decision completely. The new dentist is exactly as Dr. Silver promised  skilled, friendly, and easy to feel comfortable with. The transition felt seamless, and any hesitation I had disappeared within minutes. I also have to mention my dental hygienist  she is absolutely wonderful. She is gentle, thorough, and genuinely kind, making every visit feel relaxed and easy. In the end, the two-hour drive is still worth it.
