Providing Better Smiles to Calgary & nearby areas of Alberta
If you’re suffering from chronic headaches, a dentist is probably the last person you’d think of going to for help. However, a condition called temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD/TMJ) is one of the most common causes of severe, migraine-like headaches, and it can only be treated by a neuromuscular dentist.
The temporomandibular joint is essentially, your jaw joint; you can feel it by placing your fingers in front of your ears and opening and closing your mouth. If something’s wrong with this joint, it can have wide-ranging effects, one of which is chronic headaches.
Dr. Silver is a trained and experienced neuromuscular dentist. If you have been unable to pinpoint the source of your headaches, come into our office for a TMJ consultation. We can use our sophisticated TMJ diagnosis equipment – including sonographs and muscle activity monitors – to determine the precise nature of your problem. If Dr. Silver confirms that your headaches are caused by TMJ, he will design a custom treatment plan to meet your unique needs.
If you live in Alberta and you believe your headaches may be a symptom of TMD/TMJ, please contact Southcentre Dental Clinic today to schedule a consultation with Calgary neuromuscular dentist Dr. Jennifer Silver.
