Providing Better Smiles to Calgary & nearby areas of Alberta
Invisalign is a popular and effective alternative to metal braces for correcting many common bite conditions. But the benefits of properly aligned teeth aren’t limited to the self-confidence that comes with a symmetrical smile; having well-aligned teeth can also impact your dental health.
If you live in the Calgary area and would like to learn more about Invisalign, please call the Southcentre Dental Clinic at 403-278-1415 to schedule your consultation. Calgary dentist Dr. Jennifer Silver can help you determine if Invisalign is the right choice for your unique needs.
Crowded or unevenly spaced teeth can allow premature wear on the teeth or allow plaque to accumulate in areas that are difficult to reach with brushing and flossing. Teeth that are evenly aligned allow the gums to conform uniformly to your teeth and make maintaining healthy teeth and gums easier.
While the brackets and wires of traditional metal braces can trap food particles and contribute to plaque buildup, Invisalign aligners are removable for meals and cleaning. This allows you to enjoy your regular diet as well as to brush and floss normally for good oral health during your treatment period. For additional information, please see our Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces page.
Left untreated, many bite conditions can increase your risk for eventual jaw alignment problems; excessive wear on your teeth enamel; gum disease; and difficulty biting, chewing and speaking. It’s important to remember that your dental health is directly linked to your overall health, and many oral health issues can lead to systemic health problems down the road.
