To learn if Invisalign® or porcelain veneers will be more effective for your smile, call Calgary dentist Dr. Jennifer Silver at (403) 278-1415 and schedule a consultation todayInvisalign® is an adult orthodontic solution that is very effective at correcting:
- Gaps and spaces in between teeth
- Crooked tooth presentation
- Tooth crowding
- Overbite, underbite, open bite, and crossbite
Invisalign is often a good solution for men and women with more pronounced malocclusion – and with the addition of Precision Cuts to accommodate elastic bands, Invisalign can now be used to address even the most severe bite issues. During your cosmetic dentistry consultation at our Calgary office, Dr. Jennifer Silver will assess your bite to help you determine if Invisalign is the right solution for your needs.
Porcelain veneers can be to correct problems including:
- Tooth shape and size
- Tooth presentation
- Severe discoloration
- Chips and cracks
- Cosmetic malocclusion
Porcelain veneers are sometimes called “instant orthodontics” due to their ability to address minor bite issues such as gaps and crooked tooth presentation. However, veneers are not suitable for correcting functional or more prominent bite issues.
Invisalign is an orthodontic solution. Porcelain veneers, while offering some orthodontic benefits, are primarily a cosmetic dentistry solution. If you have pronounced malocclusion in addition to cosmetic imperfections, placing veneers after the completion of your Invisalign treatment may be the best solution. This, along with other options, can be discussed in greater detail during your consultation with Dr. Silver.
