Calgary dentist Dr. Jennifer Silver is pleased to offer ozone therapy to our speed healing and reduce infection risks. Call 403-278-1415 to learn more! When you hear the word “ozone,” you likely don’t think of dentistry. However, just as ozone is used to sterilize water supplies, clean fruits and vegetables, purify air, and disinfect laundry, this molecule has been used in the medical industry to speed wound healing and help prevent infection for decades. Calgary dentist Dr. Jennifer Silver is pleased to offer ozone therapy to our patients, helping reduce risks and improve results with a number of general and cosmetic dentistry services.
At our Calgary dental office, ozone may be used to:
- Disinfect the site of extracted teeth
- Eliminate bacteria from cavities
- Reduce infection inside of a tooth
In fact, any procedure in which purification is needed can be assisted through ozone therapy. During your next visit to our office, Dr. Silver would be happy to discuss this in greater detail and to help you determine if it is a good fit for your needs.
Is Ozone Therapy Safe and Effective?
According to a comprehensive study conducted by the Nation Institutes of Health in the United States, ozone therapy has the potential to offer a number of dental benefits including pain control, infection control, tooth remineralization, and elimination of tooth stains. The NIH also reports that ozone in dentistry can accelerate healing, assist in tissue regeneration, and even control halitosis.
Economical, minimally invasive, and incredibly effective, ozone therapy has many uses in dentistry and may serve as a good alternative to antibiotics and other traditional but potentially harmful methods of infection control. Dr. Silver uses ozone in many of our procedures and welcomes an opportunity to discuss how it can be used to protect and improve your smile during your next visit to our Calgary dental office.
Please contact Southcentre Dental Clinic to learn more about ozone therapy or to schedule your next appointment with Dr. Silver. We welcome patients from Calgary, South East Calgary, and all surrounding areas of Alberta.
