Prevention and Treatment
The proverb says, Prevention is better than cure, and the dental team at Southcentre Dental Clinic firmly believes this is true. By coming to our Calgary dentist office for routine checkups and teeth cleanings, you can help prevent very serious dental problems from arising. We cannot promise that you will never have a cavity or never need porcelain veneers if you see Dr. Cload regularly, but by coming in for routine cleanings and checks, we can closely monitor your dental health and catch any and all problems in the early stages. We can inspect your teeth and gums for early signs of decay or disease and provide you treatment, if necessary, right away.
Prevention is nearly always less expensive than reacting to an emergency that was likely preventable, not to mention less painful. This is most obvious to us when a patient calls with an emergency tooth fracture and is in a lot of pain. They so often will comment that their previous dentist or even Dr.Cload told them they should have had it crowned but never did. Now they are in pain with a broken tooth that may also need a root canal to save the tooth plus the crown or in some cases need the tooth extracted and an implant placed. Now you have a very expensive tooth in your mouth which could have been treated for far less expense at the beginning. I know ,sounds like a lecture but prevention is the answer.
When we review the condition of your teeth and oral structures we will review everything we see and any potential problems we foresee. It sometimes is a little overwhelming but we want you to know so you decide how we proceed. The decision to treat is always yours but you deserve to know all the information when making your decision.
