Providing Better Smiles to Calgary & nearby areas of Alberta

Although snoring, sleep apnea, is not always a sign of the dangerous condition known as sleep apnea, it is one of the most common symptoms.

If you or a loved one suffers from loud, chronic snoring, Calgary dentist Dr. Jennifer Silver can assess your condition and recommend a treatment option suited to your unique needs; if necessary, Dr. Silver can refer you to a sleep center for additional diagnosis. Please call us today at 403-278-1415 to schedule your sleep apnea consultation.

In those with sleep apnea, snoring is typically accompanied by other symptoms that include but are not limited to:

  • Inability to sleep through the night
  • Recurring daytime drowsiness
  • Regular morning headaches
  • Short-term memory problems
  • Difficulty concentrating

If not treated, sleep apnea can lead to an increased risk for severe health problems including heart attack, stroke, hypertension and cardiac arrhythmia; for more information, please see our Dangers of Sleep Apnea page. Fortunately, there are comfortable and effective treatment options for sleep apnea.

Many cases of snoring, sleep apnea can be corrected with the use of a custom-made oral appliance, which is similar to a sports mouthguard and helps you maintain an open airway as you sleep. Dr. Silver can help you determine the right treatment for your individual needs.
